Items meeting Rue La La’s return eligibility requirements (as set forth below) may be returned, subject to this Return Policy. All returns must be authorized by Rue La La and must be completed by mail using the shipping label provided to you at the time you initiate your return. Returnable Items
For an item to be eligible for return, it must have been purchased from Rue La La and must meet the following conditions, unless otherwise provided in this Return Policy or as determined by Rue La La in its discretion:
- Items must be returned within 21 days from the date of shipment.
- Items must be returned in their original condition, which is defined as:
- Item must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered
- Item must have all original tags attached; and
- Item must be in its original packaging. Original packaging may include hangers, plastic wrap, boxes, warranty cards, accessories, and dust bags.
We offer two refund options for eligible returnable merchandise:
- Merchandise Credit: You can select to return your item(s) for merchandise credit and enjoy free return shipping. (Note: Air-shipping rates apply for Alaska and Hawaii)
- Refund: You can select to return your item(s) for a refund to the original form of payment and pay an $11.99 return fee, which will be deducted from your refund. (Note: Air-shipping rates apply for Alaska and Hawaii)
All returns are handled on a case-by-case basis and we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to deny or reject any return that we determine is not eligible for a refund. This includes, but is not limited to, items that: (i) do not comply with the conditions of this Return Policy (e.g., are worn, altered, or missing tags); (ii) were designated as non-returnable at the time of purchase; or (iii) are not the original item ordered (including non-Rue La La items). All decisions regarding return eligibility are final.
Non-Returnable Items
Items designated as “final sale”, “non-returnable” or with another similar designation at the time of purchase are not eligible for return and will not appear in your eligible items for return. We let you know when an item is final sale, by noting it in the product description and it may also be noted on your packing slip.
Return Shipping Guidelines
To ensure your return is processed correctly and without delay, it is your responsibility to follow all conditions in our Return Policy, including the specific shipping guidelines listed below.
- Each returned item must be shipped to the return address designated on that item’s specific shipping label. If your return includes multiple items, they may need to be shipped in separate packages.
- A valid return authorization slip and shipping label we provide are required for all packages being returned. You must ensure that each item is matched to its corresponding return label for shipment to the correct return location.
- You may only include items that are listed on the return slip and its corresponding shipping label provided when you requested the return. Including other items that are not on the return slip may result in delays in processing your refund.
- Rue La La is not responsible for any items included in your return that are not listed on the return slip (including any non-Rue La La items returned in error by you). Please be aware that we will not process refunds for such items, and please note that Rue La La is not obligated to return any such items or non-compliant shipments.
- Rue La La is not responsible for return shipments that are lost, damaged, tampered with, or stolen in transit.
- Rue La La is not responsible for returns sent using a shipping method or label other than the label we provide. We are unable to process refunds for returns sent via an alternate method.
Refund Timelines
Rue La La will begin processing your return as soon as it is delivered to our warehouse. You will receive an email letting you know that we’ve received your return. Please note that our acceptance of your package does not constitute our final approval of your return. All returned items are subject to inspection and a refund will be issued only once the item has passed our inspection. Please allow an additional 5-7 business days for your return to be inspected and your refund to be processed.
Once your return has been inspected and accepted, your refund will be processed. For all accepted returns, your refund amount shall include only the price paid for the item(s) and collected tax amounts (if any). Shipping fees are non-refundable. If you selected a Rue la La Merchandise Credit as your refund method, you will see your Merchandise Credit appear on your Rue La La account within 3-5 business days. If you opted for a refund to your original form of payment, you will see your refund (less the $11.99 return fee) reflected on your monthly statement, within approximately 10 business days, depending on your financial institution.
Where we issue a refund and subsequently determine in our discretion that your return did not comply with our return policy and/or was the result of fraud, we reserve the right to recharge your payment method on file for the merchandise.
Gift Returns
If you wish to return an item from Rue La La that you received as a gift, you may return the item for Merchandise Credit. You must have a Rue La La account to receive Merchandise Credit. Please contact your Concierge via this form, or chat with us now. Please have your gift receipt or pack slip ready, which lists your order number or shipment ID.
Wrong, Damaged or Defective Items
If you believe that you have received a damaged, defective or incorrect item, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance as quickly as possible. You may contact us by chatting with us, or by filling out this form. You will need to provide us with the order number, the item description that was incorrect, damaged or defective, description of the shipping package, description of damage to the item and your preference for a replacement or site credit.

Return Fraud
Rue La La takes fraud in all its forms very seriously, including return fraud. Potential fraud or abuse of this policy, including excessive or unreasonable returns, may result in the rejection of transactions or returns. Anyone suspected of engaging in fraudulent returns or similar behavior may have their returns denied, may no longer be permitted to purchase product through Rue La La, and may be subject to additional actions, at our sole discretion.
Governing Terms and Modifications
By making a purchase on Rue La La, you agree to be bound by our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Rue La La reserves the right to make, amend, or change its Return Policy at any time, and in its sole discretion.
